Pocket Pets

Does your furry family include a rabbit, ferret, guinea pig, rat, or mouse? We’d love to help you take care of them!

What Is A Pocket Pet?

Hales Corners Veterinary Clinic welcomes a growing variety of small animals such as rodents, rabbits, ferrets, or guinea pigs. These are often referred to as ‘pocket pets’. Dr. Beth Mueller and Dr. Andrea Jumes can advise you about proper care, feeding, and maintenance of your pet, as well as treat illnesses and conditions specific to their species.

Many of these pets require very particular home care, environment, and diet to thrive. We can help you with husbandry and education to ensure your pet is set up for a healthy life. Even in the best of conditions, pets sometimes become ill and it’s important you have a compassionate veterinarian to help. We see a growing variety of pets, so if your companion is something smaller—or a little more exotic— than a cat or dog, don’t hesitate to give us a call!
